My first award

  • Since my childhood, I have been very much connected with music in my life. The main reason for that is that my father is a musician. That is the main reason why I love music so much.
  • Even though I knew that my father had ability, I learned about my ability in my school, that is, I was in one grade. There I got the opportunity to improve my musical ability more than before. I was able to participate in many competitions and win. There I met teacher Sandhya Ratnayake, the main character I met in my musical life. Under her, I studied ordinary music and then Ambalangoda Dharmashoka College to study advanced music. Entering college. During that time, my main music teacher was Sangeet Nipun Pradeepa Priyangani. In addition, many other teachers like Nadi Karunaratne, Utpala, Saman Kumara, and Shaveen Guru gave their support to my journey.
  • Under the guidance of my parents and all these teachers, I was given the opportunity to work as a student at the University of Fine Arts, Colombo.
  • So with this I started a lot of new activities. I decided to work closer to the society through a Facebook page and a YouTube channel. There I started a program called Prasa and made an action plan to improve the abilities of young children. At the same time, schools and Sunday schools Go and conduct musical entertainment programs for them.
  • With these activities, I will have the opportunity to face a special moment in my life. This is a moment that I felt very much in my heart. That is, I will also allocate an award for one of the people who saw this action of mine in an award ceremony organized by the name of Abhiman Harasara. I will do something for this society. That was the day I felt that I had done something. So, at the age of 21, I have a humble pride in being able to reach a certain distance in my musical life. I still have a long way to go in this life. Someday I will reach the top in this field My only hope is to do great service to the country and the world.

My favorite musical instrument

My favorite musical instrument is sitar. It is the main vocal instrument of Hindustani music. This is created based on Veena, the main vocal instrument of Carnatic music. It is created by Amir Kushu Padi. This is a 07 strings instrument. 01 strings are mostly used to produce tones. It is textured by an instrument called mizrab. Here the purdah board is made of wood and the tumba is made of a special pumpkin.   The famous sitar player in the world is Pandit Ravi Shankar. Pandit Nikhil Banerjee, and Ustad Vilayat Khan are famous sitar players. Lionel Edirisinghe, BS Wijeratne, Nirmala Kumari, and Pradeep Ratnayake are Sri Lankan sitar players.
